Brenda Davis has served the United States Marine Corps in and out of uniform for more than 30 years. Her time in the Marine Corps taught her the importance of being a servant leader, and, since her honorable discharge in 1990, she has volunteered for Marine and family programs that would enhance the quality of life for those who serve and those who support them. She has volunteered for over 20 years at every level of command, including in direct support of Commander, Marine Forces Reserve to develop and implement Marine and Family Readiness Programs throughout the Force. While in a volunteer status with Marine Forces Reserve, she was certified as an Army Master Family Team Trainer as well as a 4 Lenses Facilitator. In 2011, Brenda accepted a position within MARFORRES as their Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills (LINKS) team trainer and Life Skills coordinator. Her efforts resulted in the training of thousands of Marines, Sailors, and family members. In 2013, she was personally selected to serve as the Family Readiness Officer for the Commander of Marine Forces Reserve. Working with OSD on Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Programs (YRRP) and HQMC, she was able to manage programs for the more than 100,000 Marines and Sailors of MARFORRES and their respective families. Brenda was awarded the Navy Distinguished Civilian Service medal in 2015. She resigned her position as Force Family Readiness Officer in November of 2015 and returned to full time volunteer work with the Young Marines. Other notable volunteer efforts are as President and Vice President of the New Orleans Greater Council of the Navy League; President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Military Officer’s Wives Club of New Orleans; and Parent support group volunteer with Young Marines. She is currently volunteering with the Young Marines Program and the Board of Directors for the Women in Military Service for America. Brenda is married to Col Bill Davis, USMC (ret) the CEO of the Young Marines, with whom she has two sons: Matthew, the promotions producer for WVUE Fox News in New Orleans, and Bradley, the Vice President of Learning Strategy for International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training.
